In my experience, 18 and 19's do not handle as well as stock ugly 16's. Worth the massive appearance improvement. Next Tyre change I'm going for higher profiles on mine. Anyway as far as ride quality I don't perceive any difference.

Now running Conti Ext 245/40ZR 18's fronts, and are .06" taller than stock. The rears are Conti Ext 285/35ZR18 18's, and are .09" taller thank stock. They have that little extra sidewall for an 18" tire, and ride great. T

I find on the 18" the car feels more like it is "skipping" across the pavement vs "rolling" and they feel like they respond a tad more quick to driver input.
18" are less cushy, but more pushy.

928 is still on 16" wheels, but I have a Suby on 18s - almost exactly the same weight as the 928, 205/45x18 Bridgstone Re050A, Bilsteins, at 35psi. Ride is terrific, even over railway crossings, handling is excellent for road use....BUT the package will have been optimized by Suby. Got 45k mi out of first set.
One issue I have with 18s is they are SO easy to scuff on curbs becuse there is so little rubber height.
