Yes, interchanging the two connectors and trying to fix the problem by adding a resistor is a long stretch of the imagination - but PO's do weird stuff!
it is possible to pull the harness such that you can interchange the two plugs - tell us what color the wires are going to the Temp II, and we can tell you if they are swapped or not. Unless I am mistaken, the two wires going to Temp Sensor II should be Blue/yellow stripe to terminal G, and Blue / green stripe to terminal W - but if you have not rewired anything, they should be correct. The other sensor has a brown and a yellow, IIRC.

I am really counting on you guys to walk me through this...any help is suggested...

Hey, guys what do you think...could this be my problem...
"The throttle body rubber coupling had worked loose from the air distributor which caused a massive air leak (which caused the dam to remain pretty much closed). "

Vacuum leaks will cause the flapper to not be able to function properly. Mine sounded just like yours in the first video with the flapper opening and closing erratically and it was a vacuum issue(turned out to be the aux air line to throttle body was split). Thats why I had asked you to do the hose down the AFM. That helps to eliminate things. Hopefully the intake boot and the new sensor and cap will get you back in business. Porsche its not ownership it is an interactive experience. Fingers crossed for you.

Is that resistor that is embedded into the harness for Temp II Sensor bad...please help
Funny how you mentioned a "Brown and Yellow"....the two wires going to the Temp II Sensor are "Brown and Yellow".
Which two plugs do you think were swapped?

Have you had a chance to check for vacuum leaks? Did you get your manifold to seal up? Have you tried it with out the resistor on the temp 2 sensor? I got mine to kind of do what your temp 2 is doing. I had a jumper with out a cover on it and it touched the water bridge and would not start. As soon as I had my son hold it away it started up. So I touched it when it was running and it died. I plugged mine back in to the sensor and it started up and ran like normal. Is the wiring grounding out some where? I think you had said the resistor might be bad.

Vacuum leaks - The car still has the stock vacuum lines...never had a issue before with the Vacuum lines but they are old and brittle. I broke one just trying to inspect it. So I am going to order a set from Roger.
Have you tried it without the resistor on the temp 2 sensor? If I understand your question...yeah the dam thing only starts with the Temp II Sensor disconnected. As soon as I reconnect it the car revs up quickly then dies. Other Reenlisters think I have a vacuum issue or a fuel delivery issue.
I replaced the resistor. And the Temp 2 cap or its wiring harness is not grounding anywhere.
About 3 weeks ago I had a bad fuel leak. I patched the leak with some epoxy fuel tank sealer (The package did read that it would not harm the fuel system... yeah right.) I no longer have a leak but that epoxy residue must have gotten into my fuel system and perhaps clogged things up. I replaced the filter and the strainer that sits in the tank. The kicker is that I ran the car for 2 weeks without any noticeable starting or hesitation issues. Just one day after driving to work, then to school I tried to start the car for my ride home and poof no start and so here I am....

SO many variables........hard to say exactly where....BUT I just solved a similar issue that was the AFM (air flow meter)....the air temp sensor was reading incorrectly and it sounded very similar to what you describe.....
Have you tried starting it cold....is it harder or easier to start cold?

The heater core plugs are just rubber nipples that come in a larger size. They worked perfect for blocking off those ports that had the plastic covers on them. Do you still have the original vacuum hoses? Looks like the fuel reg hose is the orginal.
I also replaced all my bosch plugs for fuel injectors and sensors with the ones from a 2.0 VW Jetta. They have quick release tabs on them and are also color coded blue for injectors and black for sensors. Plus they are made out of a lot better plastic.
Have you been able to jumper the temp 2 sensor plug? Mine was also cracked and the PO taped it to the sensor.

That would be a huge vacuum leak and a big leak will cause the AFM to act erratically.
The resistor I was wondering about is the one the PO put in the temp 2 sensor. Try cutting it out and going with out it. I was able to get my temp 2 to act like yours by grounding it out after i put a jumper in.

SKIPPERMCCOY - THAT DID IT YOU AWESOME S.O.B. - Thank you.... !!!!!!
I owe you a beer.... What I did - went to Autozone picked up a "Bypass Cap Assortment" item # 02253 $6.00.
If anyone reading this - dont over anyalize the issue, familure yourself with the car. Read...Read...and dont be afraid the ask the dumb question of the day....
Going out to the car and button things up and wash her up.....THANK YOU..SIR SKIPPERMCCOY - who ever you are...
