If I hit a bump or 'oddity' in the road that puts enough energy into the rear of the car, the hatch THUNKS pretty darned solidly.
The plastic bump stop seats are in , one side is compressed a little, and I have the rubber bumpers adjusted quite a bit out/extended to give the hatch more room to work with..and that does help. But now the key can be hard to turn.
Where is the...adjustment or..whatever it takes to not do this.
I tested by removing the wing and I could quickly "depress" the hatch and thunk it down into the body.

try adjusting the side blocks along the drip rail
put a piece of paper on the block close the hatch,
if the paper pulls out easily the block needs to be adjusted upwards to contact the hatch sides.
If you have trouble using the key turn the rear height adjusters in a 1/4 turn at a time and see if the hatch becomes easier to open
