Which of these 3 $65-$85 alternators is best for 82 928?
Thanks for any advice/opinions on which one of these I should buy. Just looking for a cheap but good solution. Don't want to do lots of conversion work or big dollars for max amperage etc. Thanks very much for any help!

I just want to get it going with a minimal amount of work. If Chevy is bolt on that would be great and I'd appreciate any links to how to do that. Don't want to fabricate anything though. I want to keep time committment small as I have a lot to do on this car.
If anyone knows that the above 3 won't work I'd love to hear that or if you know of one that is less than $150 that I can just bolt on I'd love to hear about that as well. Willing to pay more to minimize time. Not interested in any fabrication at all, if possible. Just want to know which is a good one to buy. partsbin has I think over 20 they list so it's hard for me to tell which one to buy. Thanks again for any help.

We sell the remanufactured Bosch for $157.95. Depending on what alternator you have fitted now you may need to change the charging resistor in the instrument cluster and air duct cowl.
The "Quality-Built" Unit looks to be close to the original - the others are not.

I suggest that you consider finding a good auto electrical shop near you, and having them rebuild your alternator. Discuss with the shop the possibility of increasing amperage output, and installing a voltage regulator with less temperature correction - both will improve performance of the unit.

Thanks Wally, very funny you mention that because I just called 2 places in town for that same reason. : ) They said they can't get parts for it. So I guess I'm back to trying to find an aftermarket replacement...
