Default positive battery terminal

In my restoration efforts on a 90 GT (which I am trying to resuscitate), I am chasing down a rogue current drain. Kills a battery within two weeks (all the interior/exterior lights are off so I know that is not it).
I would appreciate if someone could post a picture of the postive battery terminal for one of these cars. I am seeing a bit of a christmas tree on mine (the positive cable plus 3 additional wires coming off three additional screws) and would like to know what "stock" looks like. It would help me figure out a good starting point.

In advance, a big thank-you
Glenn

Rob,

Much thanks - very much appreciated. Look identical (different from the stock 86.5). Darn - I was hoping this was easy fruit (the PO installed an extra wire). Looks like I will be getting in deep looking for the current drain.

Best regards
Glenn

little early for Christmas trees Glenn

IIRC the +ve batt post changed with the digi dash et al. First Id check how the batt is sitting in he box....too high and it shorts to the lid. for tshooting w/batt fully charged position the DVM set on highest amperage between the =ve batt post and good ground cable.....read current draw then systematically remove fuses.....once you find the offending circuit you can further tshoot from there.

Im in Calgary this week for a day or so if you need assist I'll bring ignition components.

[QUOTE=GlennD;8896237] Kills a battery within two weeks

Wow. Mine barely lasts 1 week and I have given up tryning to find the culprit over the last 3 years. I made all the checks and checked all the connections, changed a lot of cables so now any more that 3 days that I'm not going to drive her means she gets hooked up to the battery maintainer. Trying to find my drain made me a drank a lot more back then too.

Hello all,
had the same problem on my 84 Euro. However, it was a 3 amp draw and would drain it in about 2 hours. Pulled every fuse and relay one by one to try to isolate. Nothing. checked every known spot that everyone mentioned on here, nothing. Cleaned all the grounds, and it improved to about a 1 1/2 amp draw. Finally found it was the aternator. The alternator and the starer do not go through the fuse box.

Thanks all for your posts. When I get back (business trip), I will be digging into this. I will document what I find and share here.

Best
Glenn
