Well I picked up a 3/4" drive torque multiplier today, just need to locate a 3/4 drive 1 1/16" socket. I'm hopeful that this will do the trick. Stay tuned.

I used PB Blaster and left it over night. Next day I used a hydraulic jack handle as an extension to seal the deal.

Bingo, that torque multiplier I got worked like a charm. Best $100 I have ever spent. Thanks for the advice on that one, I never even knew they existed.

****ing eh! the belt is out, going pretty smooth now.

The balancer was on their good, but with the help of a puller she slid out.

And the tensioner came out in pieces, not a drop of oil in it.

Now. Put a Porkensioner in there and call it done. Also, clean up all that oil and stuff and make it look new.

Oh, and you better change your fuel lines out before you have a BBQ. They look original

Cool!
I knew it would let go! One way or another...
"not a drop of oil in it"... Not surprise.
As far as I'm concerne, the Porkensioner is the way to go.

I don't think the oil is really a must.

My tensioner didn't have any oil in it either and the 'convoluted bellows' was split and hard as a rock. I thought the oil was to transfer heat to the tensioner discs.

The oil dampens the piston movement in the later tensioners. Little check valve in the bottom of the piston allows the the piston to extend freely, collapse slowly. The oil also lubricates the piston and bore so they don't wear/gall/weld together. Oil in the tensioner is important.
