Which of these 4 colors should I paint 82' 928?

Race Car
This was what I read from "Robot808,"
"This will never be a 100% restored car (runs and drives perfect but needs interior work-seats good) so I don't know how important original color is?"
Resale pricing based on originality will have an impact on future sale price for sure. That is not what the OP posted.
If I were to buy another 928 "With" the intent to show the car for PCA or whomever I would be concerned about the original condition of the car. That being said you better be focused on only having OEM parts which in some cases are no longer available if that is where your issues lay.
Pick and choose your battles as the paint color isn't and shouldn't be one of them IMO for a daily, well maintained car.

That Arena red is very nice. Especially with the Boxster wheels. It's amazing how many shades of red they used over the years. Nice website and nicer project! Quite an amazing transformation on that car.

Unless you can do a full on and exceptional color change stay with the original color...if you CAN do a full on and correct color change (like Dean Fuller has!) then go Velvet Red! Though that would not be one of my personal fav colors if I were doing a color change, it is my fav of the 4 that you showed.

Point being go with the color you like the most!

Excellent input from Everyone. Thanks very much! I agree with the arguments to keep it original both in terms of the "integrity of the car" (whatever that means) and for resale. I also hear the posters who say the platinum metallic would look good when done. I agree and after all it is the “Risky Business” color.
For me those sound arguments are outweighed by the personal desire to see what it would look like velvet red. That color ignites my passion to work on the project. And it’s that passion that will see my through I think.
Re: color match, my thinking is that anyone will be able to see this car has been resprayed if they look hard enough. I’m ok with that. I am not willing to put the time into it to do the total color match as discussed above (remove glass, body parts, etc). I appreciate others who do that and really appreciate the unbelievable amount of time it would take.
I’m planning on painting all readily visible areas such as door jams, rocker panels, around inside of back window, etc. I really want to put nearly all my available time into paint prep and color sanding. I’m planning on color sanding the clear for sure and if I have time color sanding the basecoat (followed by other basecoat of course). I love deep hand-rubbed paint jobs.
I’ll post pics when done. My gut feeling is that the velvet red with black spoiler will look pretty cool. Chocolate brown interior wouldn’t be as good as some other colors but wouldn’t be too bad I think. I guess we’ll find out one way or the other ha ha. Thanks again for the input and it definitely influenced my decision.

Steve, you are quite correct! That said, when I think of "complete" color change I am usually only thinking door/hood/hatch jambs and as long as the original color was black leave the engine bay black... That is just me.

Velvet doesn't have quite the color shift of, say, Amazon Green - but it does vary with the lighting. In bright late-morning to mid-day sun, it has a bit of a Silver Rose hint to it as the metal flake really pops and it looks much lighter. In lower light, it becomes a much warmer and eventually darker red as the sun goes down. Here are some samples, all taken with the same camera, just different lighting:

This is getting interesting. Jwise's color is beautiful and to my eye is the same as the 911 color posted on the previous page. To me, jwise's color has more blue/purple than the 928 shown below. This confirms (in my mind anyway) that the uk porsche shown below is not velvet red but something close to it. It has more orange than than the other velvet reds IMO. I really like the porsche color shown below.
Maybe I'll see if I can get the paint code form the owner (long shot). Another option is to just find a color I like that is close. The iroc-z flame red shown below (porsche purists close your eyes ha ha) is an example of a burgundy with much more orange.
The color I like (the 928 shown below) seems to be somewhere between the purplish velvet red and orangish flame red of the camaro.

Burning Brakes
This is one gorgeous 928. It has the rear flares. I much prefer the early bumpers over the S4 bumpers. Any Rennlister has the same set up or on an OB? I did a search but saw none.
