Default Pool of oil beneath Thermostat cover

Doing the cambelt and WP, pool of oil on the flat rectangular area on top of block below and behind the Thermostat housing. What is the most likely source? Car has 60,000km. Thx/T

Your gasket between the block and the oil fill neck is leaking.

Thanks Jeff. I am embarrased to ask , but does this require an intake manifold Re&Re to do the gasket?

please add the year of the car your working on,
depending on the year you may be able to tighten the oil fill bolts holding it and the leak should stop

Now I see it, two bolts M6 x 50 on illustration 104-00 in the Parts Catalogue 1995. Plastic, so not too wild on the torque...

you wont be able to tighten these bolts easily if at all unless the intake is lifted some.

If you lift the intake then you might as well remove it
then it will be easy to reseal the fill tube and add the 928 INTL oil block off plate.

I suggest to use a generous amount of hondabond to the sealing surfaces including the O ring seal

Yes, what Mr. Merlin said. I did just that when I did my intake refresh
