TIM was in a cool spot between Greg and I. Greg was running hard on 180. The 5 speed conversion is beautiful. It is faster than before for sure. Toms car was running strong as well. Just a blast driving on those roads.

Torri and I had a great time got to blow the pipes out for the first time since I bought the 86.5, man these things stick to the road well. I let the auto do all the shifting, alot of down shifting with the hills. The car ran extremely well all day but must have ran her metabolism up a bit, on the way home the temp guage was running higher than normal usually in the center but this time a little below the red never got into the red. I pulled over several times motor felt good not hot, smelled good plenty of coolant and oil was perfect. I,m guessing maybe temp sensor might be going bad ( 25 years ) going to look into it this morning.

Glad you made it home though, I have a set of belts at the shop if you need one today.
Thanks Greg, I was able to source the correct belt last night. On the way back stopped at both the Autozone and Advance Auto, neither had one. I was hoping to quickly put one in so we could get back up, but no luck. We were bummed that we couldn't make it, but there's always next year.

All,
Great outing, I think that the Corvettte crowd still has continued respect for these old cars.
Putting faces to names was enlightening. Except for some minivans and pickups, 180 twice was a lot of fun pushing the limits of a stock S4. Wishing for better spring/shock combo, tires for next time! Brakes were fine, the 5 sp doesn't exercise them as much as the autos.
BBQ at the 180 Diner was the best, they even dug up a Dr Pepper for me.
Oh yeah, there were leaves turning all shades of red, not sure if anyone had time to take photos.
Jack, hope you just picked up some leaves in your radiator, there were a bunch of them flying!
Dan, sorry about your belt, was hoping to meet more of the Atlanta Rennlisters.
Tom, thanks for setting the date and setting this up.
Greg, I will check the ride height, probably has settled since 87......
To everyone else that came out, thanks for a fun day, for those who didn't, you really missed out on what a 928 is all about!
