Default Shocks M474

84 Euro S with M474 - I have gold Bilsteins with adjustable perches in the rear, and green (Bilsteins??) with non-adjustable perches in the front. Shouldn't I have gold Bilsteins with adjustable perches all around?

Mine is an 83S with M474 - same on the rear as you quote, but I have replaced the fronts with new gold Bils, which came with adjustable perches. Dont recall what colour the originals were.

I don't know about the shocks, but you should've had adjustable perches all the way around. Somebody has swapped your perches.

Sure the green fronts are Bilsteins? Arent Boges green? My M474 car did NOT have adjustable perches in the front, and from all I have read thats normal.

Changed to adjustable perches in 84. The early Bilsteins were green. The Boges were black.

Hmm, probably moot point anyway as I will eventually put gold bilsteins with adjustable perches in the front - more a curiosity at this point. So, 83's with M474 came without adjustable perches. Any chance that spec could have carried over into 84 (mine's a Euro if that matters - fairly early at VIN 0849)? I have PO records, but no mention of a shock change, and the car has less than 40k miles - green shocks, no adjustable perches on front.

I took a look at it on a lift and didn't know what to think. If the cosmolene looks original and the bolts look untouched then I would vote for original.
