What is interesting is that the 928 doesn't look 20+ years older than the Cayman. With a few detail changes to the exterior (headlamps and tail lamps, perhaps make the window mountings more flush), it would not look out of place in the current lineup.

The 928 is twice the car of any cayman, no comparison, the cayman is the poorer man's 911.
