TLI. Auto, manual, miles, records, color, condition ( paint/interior/mechanical)? There are a thousand things to look for. Post your location within 100 miles and I bet there are experienced 928 eyes that would be willing to lay eyes and help.

I love my '94... I drove it today to the F1 Race Watch party in fact! Always gets a lot of positive attention! Nothing in particular to look for or be scared of. They use about 1 qt of oil every 800 miles and fewer miles when tracked! That is "normal" according to Porsche and correcting is an engine-ectomy so just put oil in it regularly.
If the PSD has not been flushed and cared for regularly you could end up with no limited slip on the rear end due to a malfunction of that. That PSD pump is over $800, hell, it might be $1200 even. Not cheap. If you don't mind an open diff and it were broken, I'd leave it broke! LOL!
With 40kish miles the thing should look very close to NEW inside and out! A/C's tend to have issues but my '94 is doing ok *knocking on wood now!*
Lots of 928 peeps in Austin, Houston and D/FW and a few in SA.

928Registry.org and the vin should give you some history. Otherwise there is nothing particular about 1994. If it's A/T, (any year) the flex plate should be checked as part of PPI, takes extra time and expense, but could save you thousands.

Check all the usual things - nothing special to watch out for BUT - do get a 928 expert to take a look and drive it - could save you big $$.
Do not just buy assuming all is good - check it out well
Check all the electricals - there is usualy something that doesn't work right...

Motor Mounts, Pan Gasket, Timing Belt/Water Pump.
Fuel Pumps can be bad, but not always. (In Tank usually the one)
Look for records, preventative maintenance, etc. Market is soft, you can get a very nice car if you wait long enough. (Not talking about extrememly low mile Wilhoit Cars) Those will be quite a bit more but are really, really, nice low mile gotta haves.
I have a buddy in San Antonio who picked up a 94 Auto GTS, Red/black and tan last year. 41K miles and he picked it up for $32K. Still looked and smelled new!!

Thanks all for posting I've had the 928 bug for a while, just trying to find the right one to pull the trigger on. Will let you all know when I do.

Get all the records you can! I bought mine 02/11 and while not a GTS, it was low mileage at approx 35k miles, and well cared for stuff still happens purely with age alone.... So far I have had to:
replace clutch master and slave cylinder
top end refresh (not 100% required but should be done, hoses get old, etc.)
Timing belt and water pump. Was somewhat preventative as the service record sheet I had which showed it had been done was not totally legible enough to tell if was done in 2003 or 2008 so did for safety sake.
New motor mounts
Rebuilt steering rack
tons of other bits and pieces
In other words, age without the above done will trump low miles every day of the week!

Be sure to have the crank endplay checked, we have seen some low milage GTS's with a lot of endplay.
I think it is due to the added power.
If you are looking for the best car you can get, check with Mike W. (Turoboost)
He always seems to have some very nice cars for sale.
