You should be able to find a nice "drivers seat" as it is the seldom used passenger seat on a left hand drive car....Most would recommend dumping the K and N.

Yes it is very impractical and parrallel parking is tough and forget about passing on a two lane road Fun part is have a big dog ride shotgun or small child..... But you will find yourself starting to get in on the wrong side.....just pretend you are reaching in to grab something....to save face !

So will be getting that thing legal in the US.
DMV will have you doing circles too.

Did the car come with anything which makes you think this car was legally imported?

Congrats! This car is one-in-ten thousand... literally.

Titling the car will be no problem. I have a Florida title plus copies of all the paperwork from the import. The military imported it for the guy I bought it from, he was stationed in the UK and he brought it back. Also in Arkansas you can title pretty much anything with only a bill of sale as long as it is older than 25. You can also import cars into the US with little problems as long as they are over 25 too.

I suspect a lot of the Euros came to the US via the military, and with perhaps not so standard of a federalizing process, since I am seeing no sign of anything being changed on this one like fender markers, headlights, etc. It would never fly in Calif, thats for sure.

How were all these military personnel able to afford a car like this back then? I hear that a lot ("I suspect a lot of the Euros came to the US via the military") but it doesn't make sense based on my assumptions of how much money they make and how much the car cost back then. Gunar

Active duty pilot, particularly if single, has everything paid for by the military. That leaves a decent amount for a car payment.
