I'm kinda interested, but a big tuning cycle is a problem for me. I just don't have the time or patience. Any chance someone could just copy EEPROMs from someone who has already done the installation and sharketuned, such as AO? Or are there too many installation specific details?

By the way, the OP does not mention pullies, that I can see, as either supplied with the kit or not.

Karl,

This setup uses the crank pulley as the drive source, so no aftermarket pulley required. I believe the supercharger has the 2-3/8" pulley installed now.

While I do have bin files for several twin-screw installations, this kit really shouldnt be installed without the intention of Sharktuning. I would be remiss if I sold this kit to a new owner who does not have access to or willing to rent a Sharktuner.

Thanks,
Hans

Very Tempting but I think i need to install my engine first and at least get my car rolling. Otherwise i will be buried with the WYAITs.

One of the reasons I installed the electromotive TEC-4 GT system
was so that I could tune my own system, and retune when I get a SC.
It is also the reason I went with the larger fuel rails and the adjustable FPR
I have been thinking of that large 04 fuel pump that I here is being used.
I here that this SC need 32lb injectors on the 5L engine, is that correct?
I have Roger holding off on the 24lb that I had ordered.
I just need to think on this a bit.

Brad,

You need at least 32lb injectors. You could go to 40lb if you want, but this includes a set of the Ford "Red Top" injectors, which is plenty for the included pulley size. With the included pulley, the factory pump will be sufficient... assuming that the internal pump is not broken and causing a restriction.

Thanks,
Hans

That's just crazytalk.
Install the SC onto the engine while it is out and THEN, put it back in the car. You'll kill two birds with one stone and since the USD is so low, now is the time to buy. Just say when and I'll come over to help.

Brad,

I wouldn't be concerned about not having the in-tank pump. It seems to cause more harm than good. A deleted pump is far better than a failed pump.

Thanks

Just an FYI on my experience with this kit regarding fueling and other points brought up...

Fuel pump

The stock external pump is good for up to about 450RWHP. Go much beyond that and you'll need to upgrade the pump. The internal pump is a POS! Ditch that thing ASAP and put in a strainer. If you're going to upgrade to a Bosch "044" pump, then you might consider the "044" strainer offered by Tim Murphy as it is appropriately sized for the 044 pump (the OE strainer is a little under-size and might cause the pump to cavitate - but that's been discussed in another thread already.)

Injectors

33# pound injectors will work fine with the 6-7psi pulley. Injector duty cycle will max out at about 90-95% at full load at redline at stock fuel pressure. Since I knew I was going to run higher boost, I moved to 42# injectors and at 9psi at full load I hit about 75-80% injector duty cycle (IDC) again at stock fuel pressure. I never measured IDC when I was running 11psi because my AUXBox crapped out on me for the 3rd time but I had no problems fueling the added boost. Also, I've not had any issues with fuel rail size or boiling fuel with this setup - so there shouldn't be any issues with that.

MAF

Some people may wonder about running a super MAF or if the regular MAF is adequate. The nice thing about DR's setup is that you are effectively measuring half of the air going into the engine so no SuperMAF is required. The SharkTuner allows you to re-map the fuel and compensate for the lower air measurement. The Stock MAF is good for around 400 RWHP (maybe 450). This means that this setup could potentially support a blower delivering 800+ RWHP! Not sure the engine can take it, but the MAF could.

Chips

I think Hans already has my bin files, but if not I will be happy to provide my bin files to anyone who buys this kit. I cannot guarantee they will work perfectly, but it should be a safe starting point. And if you are willing to come to Detroit, I will be happy to work with you to tune it up using my SharkTuner. I highly recommend we do it on a Dyno for the high speed stuff, however. Don't want to go to jail.

Installation

I would actually recommend that you install it with the engine in the car. I don't think you can drop it in with the bracket or the air guide in place, so there isn't all that much benefit to pre-installing it on an engine out of the car. Just my $0.02.

Hope this helps.
