Default Trunk carpet padding rotten

The layer of foam padding under the trunk carpet has deteriorated. Any ideas on where to get a piece that would look original?

Thanks,

Skipp

Yep, I got these also from Bob. The only complaint is that they were cut by scissors and therefore the edges are not perfectly straight. Other that that they make the cabin less noisey.

I got a set of the rear foam covers from Rob Budd for the hatch they seemed like they fit perfectly,
I didnt notice that they were cut with scissors though, I thought they were hi quality parts .
Also got a rear spare tire cover from Jerry Feather another hi quality part

I use an X-acto knife to cut them. They're too thick for scissors. I guess sometimes these old hands shake a bit so you might see a slight angle on the edge.

If your ordering new carpets I would make a point to ask how the installer wants the door carpets ,
as there are 2 versions.
One has the carpet simply folded over the edge and stapled and glued into place.
From what i have seen, This seems to be the way it was done at the factory.

The other version has a vinyl piece sewed onto the lower edge of the carpet,
then this is folded over the edge of the door panel.

This version is made so to keep water from getting into the lower edge of the carpet,
though if you install good vapor barriers with the water drip panels,
water damage should not be an issue.

I prefer the carpet edge, as it was easier to fit to the door panel

Funny you bring that up. Was discussing it with someone else just this week. My daughter has her own serger kit and has been doing small stuff like this for a while. I was wondering if it was possible to not get the edges sewn up with this vinyl end.

I need to order a carpet set in the near future so I'll talk with Rob about this.

In this area, can somebody point me at a source for the press stud type carpet retaining things please? These are round things screwed to the front floor, just in front of the outer seat rail, with a matching thing crimped into the underside of the carpet. Mine on the floor are broken , and I dont know the technical name for them, and PET is useless , searching on 'carpet' anyway.
tks

No, METAL ring like a crater, screwed to the floor. Suspect one part is similar to item 4 on this page.

Gimme a ring if you need help with the install Sean.. IMHO I like how the install went with mine with the viny at the edges for the door pieces..

BTW.. I'll be giving you a ring in the AM to see if you can squeeze me in for install tomorrow of new fuel pumps.
