Default intermittent spark

Good morning all, 84 928S euro, A/T.
Per your advice i was to do some work on report back, here is the previous postings.

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...again-dam.html

I cleaned all the ground points except the one in the hatch under the side wall. Suprisingly they looked real good. But it still would not fire up. Then i cranked the engine for about 30 sec, pulled the plug to see if it was wet. Well it was hard to tell. It seemed moist but i couldnt actually get gas on my finger. Maybe i didnt crank it long enough. Timing belt was turning, and distributor in correct position at TDC.
So then i checked the plug and it was not getting any spark. So i went to the other side and pulled a plug, while it was cranking no spark for about 10 seconds, then spark and the car immediatley fired up. I did notice the spark started like a white flash, then turned to a blue spark.
Since it fired up, i am assuming that i am getting fuel, unless there is a relay or something that is intermittent that controls both the fuel and the spark at the same time.
But i definetly saw the intermittent spark. Can you guys tell me what i should check from here ? I am at work, so i am going to get make a little tool today to pull the relays in anticipation this is something that will need checked.

One thing i would like to point out is that my drivers side headlight does not work, even with 2 brand new headlights. I read somewhere that it is possible that the coil wires run into the same bundle. Every thing looked real good at the CE panel front and back when i cleaned the grounds there.

Thanks guys for any advice.

Clean grounds (any brown wire), there are several in the bay (including coil(s) I'm not familiar w/'84) as well as in the batt compartment. New Visitor thread #33.

This could be the primary cause or an intermittant contributing gremlin. Then do Jim's tests again. Good luck.

Why did you start a second thread? Best to keep same subject in one thread.
