If the car had been for sale across the border in Sweden, the asked price would have been about 20% of what they ask in Norway. The crazy luxury tax makes cars extremely expensive in Norway. Thanks to us having our own automotive industry here in Sweden (Volvo and Saab) this kind of luxury tax has not been imposed upon us as in the neighbouring countries (Norway, Denmark, Finland).

For 25 years old cars tax in Finland is minimal so thats not a problem like it is for GTS for example. I would be more worried about it being legal to register in here as its not official factory model and body has been changed well beyond installing for example Strosek bodykit.
Interior is too new for it. At least some parts of it has been changed.

Ake, this car is from 81, which means its 30 yo. On cars 30 years or older there is no real price difference between Norway and Sweden, as there is no import tax to Norway.
I doubt the car will shift hands at the asking price.

Nice concept on the car, but I doubt he will get the asking price - don't think there are so many 928 nuts in Norway.

High taxes on new cars sure will increase the price level of used cars. This 1981 car looks very nice but here in Sweden it would probably been priced SEK 50K to 75K. Here there are several GTS´s for sale priced well under the asked price in Norway. Erkka do you mean importing a Strosek car from Germany to Finland is not possible, will it not be approved by the authorities? Here in Sweden it is rather easy. As a matter of fact the testing and inspection of used imports has been made much easier over the years. When I imported my first Strosek car in 1986 I was faced with a lot of problems and costs. When importing the last car in 2009 it went very easy, I even got the car approved having no catalytic converter which is mandatory on 1991 model cars sold new in Sweden.

Strosek is not a problem as its basically just bodykit. This wagon is different as it has totally different rear end which must affect crash safety. It depends on what papers say meaning if it has normal 928 S registration papers its easier than if there is something special in them. It also depends on who will do import inspection.

The YOUNGEST GTS is now 19 years old. It has another 11 years until it can be imported to Norway without paying the INFLATED car tax.
But as I say, there is little or no difference in price of 30 years old cars between Norway and Sweden because 30 yo cars can be imported into Norway without paying tax.....................

Sweden?
Here's a less costly option with superior leg room and better lines.
All it needs is some Nicole "clears".
Gotta love the roof rack and period whitewall tires in the first shot!

Peculiar design, but still would make a pretty cool, and especially fast hearse..!
On a different note..![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
When you import a car into Norway you pay VAT (24% of the sales price) and upon registration you have to pay approx 500 Euros more. (That is if its 30 years or more) If its newer they screw you big time and usually double or triple the price of the car in EU or the USA. Its a beautiful little country with alot of stupid regulations and laws..!
