Maverick "People can look at the cars, they may not like them, and the 928 click is filled with pundits and nay sayer's and many so called experts as well as critics if not out right haters that fill up the chat boards with bile. But they can weigh in say anything they wish and they do! But at the end of the day they would all be hard pressed to find anyone in the country who has restored, modified, customized and created more one of a kind unique Porsche 928's, 944 Turbos and 924 Turbos in the country".
I guess he told us.
We can say what we want, but 20 years from now he will own 100 928's and they'll be worth $100,000 a piece on average.

Wow, I read it and talk about delusions of grandeur... Just a quick fact check will show that his recollection (yes this write up was by Marsalis) of his Spielberg meeting must have been slightly off. Spielberg released Saving Private Ryan to DVD late 1999. Per his story he was "advising" Spielberg in "99" to embrace DVD. That would be about like me advising John Glenn to give that orbit around the globe a try.
What a dingle nut lying character that guy is.

He was in College around the same time I was and I was a big time Southwest Conference football fan when I went to Texas Tech. I didn't remember ever hearing about him so I Looked up the 89-92 roster and did not see his name anywhere???

Hope this isn't an Enzo but search does not work on my iPad.
Was at Barnes & Noble and saw the latest issue of Heavy Hitter Magazine and it had a spread that included a collection of 928s including the Bob Devore "highwayman" car. The collection was owned by a young African American guy named Martin in So Cal. Anyone know this collection?

The AFI Film School where he marveled at Porsche 928 racer and 928 International shop owner Mark Anderson running circles around newer Porsche GT 3’s and Porsche Cup cars

Not an adult magazine, it is the magazine version of MTV Cribs.
This piqued my curiosity so I did look up the old threads and checked the internets for more about this character. Looks like this guy has a number of names and the wiki associated with the Maverick Marsalis name is so far fetched it Is hilarious
Google zia nation syndicate and it comes up with www.thefullwiki.org/Maverick_Marsalis which is worth a read.

Every time I have met Maverick its been fun, unique takes on the 928 and a genuine enthusiast for Porsches. He has an incredibly smooth manner, that I suspect has convinced some people to do some foolish things, but other than being aware of stories about him, I don't judge people on things I don't know.
