I thought I put my name down for one before, but can't find it in this thread, so I'll stick my hand up just in case

Since seeing your shopbot, you've got me reading cnczone and planning a smallish 4-axis mill (AXYZ) - my wife wants one as she has some projects in mind which will need one.

Yes... a few are now available, and more will be produced over the coming weeks. Despite the fact that these will probably work with a lot of different cars, I'm initially trying to limit sales to 928 folks.

This is the final, final form (I can say that now, because one has already shipped!), complete with new branding:

(large version)

(large version)

PM me for the unpublished link where you can purchase one. Since I have very limited stock right now, I want to release the first few to those who need them right away. Furthermore, I'd like to get feedback from the first few people who install them so I can fine-tune things like the wire length on the connection kits, etc. I'm confident in the electronics, but I'm not entirely sure I've discovered the best installation connection options for '90 and later cars.

Up to '89 is easy: just disconnect the spade terminal terminated wires at the rheostat and reconnect those wires and the rheostat to the AILD-1 connection kit's wires. Also ground the brown wire on the AILD-1 connection kit. That connection kit looks like this:

Due to the weird connector on the rheostat on the '90 and later cars, there are two connection kit options for those cars:

... one that will have you de-soldering and soldering some wires at the rheostat connector's terminals:

... and another option if you don't want to solder, but instead want to cut the existing wires to the rheostat and terminate them with spade connectors (this is effectively adapting your '90+ rheostat's connections to be the same as the pre-'90 rheostat; and note that you'll only be using four of the eight extra spade terminals; two types of terminals are included because I think over the years, each of the two rheostat terminals might have been terminating just one or sometimes two wires):

OK Ed (or is it "Protizmo" now). Can I assume for the branding that you will be moving on to the next project now...? and what will that be?

BTW I have a few ideas if you don't (but I'm sure you do...).

I don't have a need for one of these currently - so I'll let those that need one to use immediately go first - but as soon as you have plenty available to meet demand I will take one for future use, I'm sure I'll get around to swapping everything out...

The next project will be... nothing for a little while, as I turn my attention to finally getting some stuff planted outside (I'm late with all my spring stuff), seeing through the re-flooring project for our lower level, rebuilding the deck, and a variety of other things that need doing.

Protizmo gives me a business framework that I expect to use as I continue doing these kinds of projects (which I do plan on getting back to when I can).

I certainly wouldn't mind hearing ideas for future products. There are some obvious ones (like a pulse adapter for people who are running with different flow-rate injectors that would correct the fuel usage info calculated by the instrument cluster electronics).

I plan on continuing to build these in batches of ten as time permits. We'll see how things go with the initial rush.
