Kool, I think it's something special...mostly because it is my first 928...I am starting to scatter some pics...I'll start a thread....I won't be able to post much coming soon...we are trying to build a house, and leasing ours, which will force us to move to a rental ourselves, during construction...a few more hurdles, we are about 30 days away, and the 928 might have to go into storage for a while.

Ron,
Look for Jim Willman here on RL or over at the 928 Owners Club Forum (www.928oc.org and join while you are there!) he is doing much the same thing that you are doing and is much further along than you are. He will likely have many great tips for you.
What is OB??? Depends on who you ask... I say Original Body style, so that it would apply to any '78 - '82 928 that does not have spoilers. The person who actually coined the term did call is car an Old Bugger and it was then applied to the '78/'79 CIS fuel injection cars... YMMV!

This is an amazing thread. I have considerable envy for the interior of #1, and will be watching this and the other threads for any mention of where you might procure Pascha fabric.
Hats off to you! You are well on your way to 928 sainthood.
BTW: My vin is 9289200033 --not sure if that means 33rd in '79 or 33rd of second run, but it isn't anywhere near #1 or #6.

In the meantime, I'm developing restoration skills I may use someday on #1.
Long way to go on this one, folks. Thanks for asking.

He also offers great prices on reupholstery of vinyl/w Pasha seats (front and rear), and door inserts.
Far from sainthood, man. Maybe an honorable mention when it gets restored. Thanks!

Jim - take a look at this month's Pano. Excellent article on the very early 911's, and how all of a sudden, they became valuable. Couple that with the recently written article about possible 928 values starting to move on the early 928's (the recent thread in which we both commented). Interesting stuff. Plus the Panorama article talks about the last remaining prototype car (911 varient) and what that's worth now.
Keep the good fight going - it will all be worth it eventually!

Gotta love that! Roger has been preaching this same thing for years too! So if anyone wants a really early 928 they will have to call Jim or Roger!

Last night as I was jockeying cars around, a neighbor stopped by to introduce himself. He'd noticed the 928's and was interested in learning more about them.
Showed him Perl (87 S4), the #579 car, and then matter of factly mentioned that the first 928 was in the canopy garage.
He had this surprised look on his face when he said "you have the first 928, ever?". I replied, "Yeah, it was a press car".
I showed it to him and he was very curious, asking questions about it's VIN and when it was built.
Following that, I stopped by his house to check out his 996 and Aprilla (very cool!). Then went back and took him for a spin in Perl. I think we may have a convert.
It's great to see how that dumpy #1 car could garner such a response. Made my day!
