Reading through Brian Long's Porsche 928 book, I saw a striking Guards Red show car used at the '77 Geneva Auto Salon. You may remember the photo with Ferry Porsche posing on its hood, with the custom bright white Recaro seats. What a cool car with clean lines and uncluttered appearance!

This is what piqued my interest for the early cars.
I became curious if this car still existed. Did Ferry own it? Is it still in the family, stored in a garage up in the hills of Zell am See?
I don't know if Ferry owned it or not but I asked Porsche for those and other information about a week ago. The litlle we know today is that, after the Geneva show, the dash leather cover was "painted" black and those seats added. Only in the begining of 1979 it was sold to a private owner as it was.
So, it was at the "factory" service for almost 2 years...
If anyone has more pictures/information of the car in that era, I would appreciatte it.
