That one is a Euro and yours US.

Check out these Zuffenhausen Line Photos. You may be able to spot your 928 there, as these were taken after they started building US 928s.

That registration date would put it as very early production - certainly interesting enough to find out the VIN

I would expect it to be ROW 0200-0300 or even earlier which means it earlier than first US model.

Nothing new to report, really. It's not an 'active' project, meaning it's more long-term.
I started 928 Classics a couple years ago, and have been into it full-time for about a year. And with any small business, it takes alot of time, energy, and money to grow it.
This is where my efforts are right now. And if the business proves a success, it will afford me the opportunity to actively restore #1. This is the primary goal of my business
A more active restoration is the #6 car, which i'll be working on in early June.

Thanks for checking in!

I figured this a good place to post this C&D article, which depicts rich history of Number One and the 928.

The profile picture on page 4, looking at the license plate, ---2132 , that actually is number 1.

The article mentions the 928 has movable pedals. Do our cars have that feature? If so, how are they moved? Great article. Thanks for the link.

Easy. Pedal on the right is operated by right foot. Push all the way down. Left pedal is also foot operated in conjuction with lever in center console. Middle pedal seldom required, but if needed push hard with foot then release, then continue with right pedal all the way down.

Ha! Seriously, though. Was this an early production feature that was ultimately dropped?

The gas pedal and dead pedal are adjustable on all 928s. You can adjust the gas pedal to meet your braking for good heal-toe. Dead pedal for comfort at desired seat position.

Also, you can adjust clutch arm spring to spec for proper feel.

And there is a beautiful bolt-on extension available to raise the brake pedal. Just occurred to me - wonder if that also fits the clutch?

IIRC it does fit the clutch in some earlier years - from memory Porken made a thread about it with pics, 4 or 5 years ago. My recollection is the holes are still there but not tapped in the S4 pedals.

edit: found it: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-spacer-s.html The holes aren't there but the casting supports drilling and tapping, from 86.5 onwards apparently.
