Strange no start
When Stan had the car it was thr only part of the original fuel system that wasn't refreshed. So we agreed that I do it once I got the car home. I replaced it along with the rubber line thy connects to the front damper. There was a bit of fuel smell coming from the old one, indicating it's need for replacement.
That's what I was thinking. Can you put a 53 in that slot? I've got a couple in the car that I keep handy. I just need something to pull them with. Otherwise I'll be on the phone with Roger tomorrow.
Damn. I'm pretty sure fuel pump relay is done. Started and droe fine to work, now I just got in the car after my workout an started fine, then almost immediately ran a little funky then died. Cranked again, Barry wanted to idle then died.
Also, figured out that the plug the fuel pump relay fits into will easily push out the back of the CE panel. It's got a broken claw holding it in, and the others are not doing the job. Also, I don't want to say it's burnt in color, it's not black, but it's definetely a darker shade than the rest of the off white slots.
Hard to put in a new relay when the old one didn't appear to be seated all the way and the replacement one won't go in completely without pushing the plug out.

I was able to fit the old relay back ino the slot with a little bit of holding on the other side with a finger.
Car started with foot to floor. I know I need to address the CE panel, but it also seems like the car is not keeping the correct amount of residual fuel pressure? Like either a damper or the regulator is bad or the check valve in the fuel pump is bad? I say this because after I got it started I went to shower and change, got in and it started fine. Then, short drive to the PX for a little breakfast and now it just did the same thing it did earlier. It started, then slowly died. I'm sure if I wait a bit it will start with thr foot to floor technique.

Stan, I put my normal amount in the tank after work yesterday. So it's got well over a half tank right now.
I'm going to test the relays once I get home since I didn't have anything to pull them with yesterday. I'm also going to pull the CE panel and ensure that the female connections are making contact and the relay is seated. I'll test with the horn relay since I know it's good. I don't have a jumper to test with though, so I need to make one for this sort of thing in the future. Also I'm going to check thr dampers and regulator again. I need to check the fuel pump check valve also, even though I know all these parts are new.

look in the left or right door or the glovebox for a 2 prong jumper, or under the carpet in the right footwell
IIRC there were one or two of them in the car.
If you get consistant flooding and the dampers and the FPR are not leaking then the next thing is the injectors.
The FI harness is in VGC condition so be very careful removing the plugs fromthe injectors no need to have them get trashed while troubshooting

Dinner time currently, but I'm going to check dampers afterwards.
