OH MAN I can't tell you how many of the 928's I've owned over the past decade have had the stupid little lights corroded and draining the battery. I recently replaced the door exterior handle spring mechanism in one of my cars' driver's door and must have messed with the little light connector. Battery was almost drained in just a few hours. Thank Goodness when these cars fail, they seem to tend to fail in repeatable, recognizable ways

I had a crumbling hatch light assembly that was causing the fuse to randomly burn out and I would loose all of my int lights and stereo function. Heinrich came to my rescue with a good hatch light that even included the bulb! No more blown fuses. Amazing how some of the components on these cars are so well made while others are just total crap.

Unrelated, but if we're talking confessions.... I just recharged my a/c this morning. When I opened the low side valve on my gauge manifold to let the R12 flow in, the low side pressure went to ~75psi and the Freon wasn't flowing into the low side.
I couldn't figure out why it was so high with no flow. I was afraid the can might burst, so I closed the valve to recheck all my connections and found the high side manifold valve just slightly opened. It didnt even feel opened, just not tightend all the way, but it was obviously enough for the high pressure side to bleed through.
Man, that could have been really ugly.

after you fix the light connections put some silicone or 3M strip caulk on the wire as it goes into the rubber cap this will prevent water from filling up the light housing

Those door lights are precisely why my PO provided a brand new battery when I bought the car. I guess he figured the battery was going bad, and replaced it the day I was to come over and pick up the car.
I guess he never noticed the door lights being on constantly.
