Default Ignition Questions

On the wiring diagrams I noticed three components to the ignition system. I am not sure what or where the thrid item is located.

1) Distributor - This on on the end of the cam housings
2) Ignitcion Coil - mounted to the firewalls
3) Ignition Final Stage (Not sure what this is????)

Mounted up on the front body cross member, drivers side, in front of the radiator, close to the headlamp raise motor, should have a plastic cover over it.

Ignition Final Stage - Final control stage - under the flat plastic box on the left side of the front valance panel. This is the flat panel forward of the radiator, and the ignition boxes are under the flat panel on the left side of the panel. That is, near the left headlamp, on your right as you stand peering into the engine compartment. "Left" is always driver's left, while in the driver's seat.

Edited it for u.

While we are talking semantics, I thought the fire wall was only the partition between engine compartment and the interior, i.e., aft of the engine? If I looked for coils on the fire wall (in my def) I would not find them.

Wink

I hadn't noticed that the RHD cars were different. Isn't it difficult to drive facing to the rear?
