Agreed. It's the unstoppable permagrin that makes us look back everytime we walk away from our cars. They REALLY are amazing things, value for money. They do have their needs but as long as you keep those covered ---

Fact. I always look back as I walk away. I often wonder if people are watching me look at my 928. Paranoia?

Never really thought of that detail, but it’s in fact very true! I always lock back every time I walk away from my 928, whether I parked it on my garage or everywhere on the street! I don’t do that with any other car…
Our 928’s are in fact different from the rest, they are “something else”!

Regards

I do the same thing, always look back at my 928 after i'm walking away, I'm always amazed that I have them, they are the super bargain of the age compared to the other exotics. I always thought I wanted a ferrari but after owning several 928's have no need for any other exotic, there is nothing better out there!

Not that I have any real idea, but it seems the 928 was designed to be worked on. Does this apply to the other exotics of the day?

This is actually one my favorite things about the design of the 928: it was designed to be worked on. I work on F/A-18 fighter jets, and they were designed to be worked on, and kept flying for a very long time. This car is very much like an F/A-18.

I have owned my 928 for 17 months and I enjoying driving the car every chance I get. I just wish she has less miles. Not that there are signs of my engine slowing down any, just that she has over 220k and still going strong.

Miles don't mean anything on a 928, I heard of a guy who bought 2 of them new, last I heard he had
over 350K on one and 650K on the other, I think if you take care of them the engines can last almost a lifetime(not sure the numbers are exactly correct but they had VERY high mileage on them.)

Another thing about the other exotics, even if you can do the work yourself, the parts cost is horrendously expensive when compared to parts on the 928, and correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you can get parts for Ferrari,Maserati,Aston Martin, except through the authorized dealers.

I thought I was the only weirdo. When I park mine in a lot I pick a spot that will give me a good view of it as I walk back to it. I just love the looks of these cars...almost as much as driving them.
