Houston GTG - Cars & Coffee, Aug 6
Houston 928 owners will be meeting up at Cars & Coffee August 6 and Vintage Park Shopping center off Louetta and 249. We'll attempt to park as a group, but it gets crowded early. Get there by 7:30 if you want to park together, I'll try to be there a little earlier to find a spot. If you don't see us, check out the rear parking lot to the south. C&C runs from 8-10am.
An email has gone out to the Houston Google Group with more details and a map Please PM me if you would like to be added to this group.

Great time at Cars & Coffee this morning. Had 9 928s show up, and 8 parked together very close to the action. The cars got a lot of attention and comments and were heavily photographed. Many comments about how much people loved these cars and how good it was to see so many nice ones together. We met a few new owners, welcome Paul, Scott, and there was a Ferrari owner that has an S4 but don't remember his name. I'll be sending out invites to the Google group soon.
When the fun was over at C&C, we had 7 cars at my place and Rusty brought over his almost new 91 S4 with it's freakishly clean engine, and orginal everything including TB/WP and all belts. We started on his TB/WP replacement and everything went smoothly. His original WP was leaking but the original 20 year old TB looked like new. No signs of age or wear. The crank bolt required a 6' pipe on a breaker bar with two of us pushing as hard as we could, but it eventually broke lose. We'll finish up tomorrow with the PK tensioner install. Temp in the garage stayed just under 100 and there was a nice breeze, so with the proper liquid refreshments, it wasn't too bad.
I'll try to get some pics up this afternoon.

Don, Sounds like a great time. Worked on some electrical gremlins today in my garage with Jeff (jeffanddeb), so could not make it up. Will try and make it up to one of your GTG's in the near future. 77Tony

Some pics from the event and afterwards...
Had a buddy drive the TBF car to the event, so had both of mine there
This guy got a good shot from above of our lineup, hopefully it will make the gallery on the cars&Coffee web site.
Good to meet Paul and see his beautiful S4.
Afterwards at my place...
Leaking WP, lots of white powdery corrosion, hopefully the bolt will come out ok. Going to try Sean's chordless impact driver trick tomorrow.

The Houston Cars and Coffee today did have the usual plethora of exotics...maybe 30 or so Ferrari's, 15 or more Lambos, maybe 25 Vipers, a few Maserati’s, I saw 6 NSX’s all together, 3 Ford GT 40’s, one running Stanley Steamer, a few hot rods, 9 928’s, and many “lesser” cars. Maybe 500 cars +/-.
