Default Interior temperature reduction thoughts?

Lately the highs have been over 100* and my car is NOT a nice thing to come back to after a day out in the sun. I park as close to shade as I can, but where I am working there is really no other parking option, so it sits and bakes for half the day at least. My deodorant from my morning shower that I keep in my "workout" bag melted the other day. So it is HOT in the car.

I do use a windshield reflector, so at least my dash doesn't have direct sunlight. But, my car has NO tint. I know that I need to get the entire car done, but I don't know the first thing about it. I do know it varies from state to state as to how far you can go with the tint.

What does everyone recommend for their 928? I would really like to get something that will block as much UV light as possible. My leather is already taking a hit from daily use, and I don't need it baking constantly with no protection.

Hookedoncars.com (Nicole's shop) has nice, custom (for the 928) and complete sun protection for our cars: http://marketplaceadvisor.channeladv...78036&c=943800

Other than park it in the shade/underground or in a garage you'll have to cover all the glass with reflectors.

Interested in what others suggest.

doing the rear glass and 1/4s helps a great deal. The door glass tint tends to get scratched by the felt covered fingers near the inner window seal. Also if you travel into a no front tint state it is often used as an excuse to pull you over and look for other things.....
Today I had a tint violation and driving a commercial vehicle without a commercial license DISMISSED because the officer failed to appear in traffic court. So I get the $200 bail for the tint and the $200 bail on the CDL refunded in full.

1) Park in the shade - I know it may not be easy but this is the real answer - figure out how

2) Get a car cover in reflective material with soft lining - you will get microscratches (thats the trade off)

3) Tint the windows as dark as you can

4) Get a really good reflective solar shade that fills the windshield

5) Get something to cover the seats - remove before you sit down

6) Service the AC so its as effective as it can be

Really - just find a way to park it in the shade - walk further

V-Kool window films.
Some films are almost clear and in some counties are allowed on the front windscreen.
OEM by some asian car companies, lke Toyota.

Put solar cells on the roof and have them power a cooler for the interior. A car cover with the windows cracked down helps a lot. It will save your paint too.

I'll probably look into Nicole's covers, plus tinting. It's legal in NC to tint the fronts. This is a temporary situation honestly, I'm only going to be parking here until around October. The car lives in the garage the rest of it's life.

Other than parking 1/4-1/2 mile away, I'm not going to find any more shade to park under. Not an option for more than what I get to fit under in the morning. OR, the spots are all off limits. I'm in the military, so off limits IS off limits.

AC works excellent, and everything is fresh and in working order. Just not gonna feel super cold after the car has sat all day obviously. AC is not the issue, it's the sitting.

Mine is white, all white leather, in GOOD order still. I had the all except the screen tinted as dark as legal (here in Oz), and this made a huge difference. I put a shade thing on the inside of the windscreen when I park it anywhere. You can get little solar powered fan units that hook on a window open ~1/2" that blow interior air out through the gap, so that would help to circulate air through it.

Can't help with any links but I am sure I have seen a device that might help.
It consisted of two criss cross plastic grills that are retained by closing the
windows onto them. They sit over the glass and into the window seal.
One of them had a solar powered fan that draws the hot air out of the car
continuously.
No idea where I saw this; maybe it's just an "invention" lurking at the back
of my mind.

No sunroof on my car.

I kinda like the idea of little fans that blow or circulate air. Seems kinda gimmicky though?

Thanks for the thoughts fellas.

the value of tint cannot be overestimated. It makes ALL the difference in heat. I saw a magazine ad for Viper ceramic tint, looks cool and appears to be radar detector friendly, PLUS looks like new, 99% efficient technology http://www.viper.com/Tint/Products/CeramicFilm.aspx
