What is my interior color called?
Hi,
Guys - I've got an 84 928 and its got this sweet sort of camel colored interior - and I'm just wondering what the color is called.
Truth be told - I'm trying to sell it and would like to know what its called so I can be accurate in the ad I've placed in the marketplace. In fact - if anyone could run the vin and give me the option codes (from PET7), I would be grateful.

Thanks,
Vince

Erkka -- thanks for the quick reply -- what do the first two numbers mean on the list "M28.20
A28.01"?
Cork, camel or champagne...is there a way to be absolutely certain? I'm working with PCNA to get the original order info from historical archives, but it may take a few days/weeks..I'm not sure, just started the process today.

Mrmerlin - I've got an ad in the classifieds,
https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...-tan-129k.html
and I've recently seen a post about 84 928s, so I think I may be asking too much...like way too much. Unfortunately I don't have a clear service history from the previous owner, I do have a stack of receipts, but its for stuff like tires, oil changes and doesn't include the major items (TB, WP etc) that you would like to see.
Anyway - I'm not trying to fund my kids braces with this sale and would love to see it go to a fellow rennlister who would take care of it. It was off the road for a few months earlier this year while I fixed the steering rack, but it recently passed smog and seems to drive well. Unfortunately, it seems to be not the most desireable year/options in a 928. But it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.
What do you guys think its worth? Should I just put it on ebay with a $1 min bid?

Def not champagne. I think its cork. Whatever the case it is amazing. The interior totally transforms the car IMO. I think the condition of the car almost merits the asking price. If the drivers seat were in better condition it probably would. As it is I would say it would be at the high side of the normal market for an '84 auto, unless someone really wanted the car for the interior. Which is totally possible.

Just checked the for sale add - that is a beautiful car. Yes, $7500 for an 84 auto may be a bit agressive, but your car looks close to being worth it to me.
If I were you, I would get two more airbox straps and button that down properly, as well as a jump post cover - if you want a premium price, those little, inexpensive things make a difference, and their absence sends a message of less than careful maintanence. Update the pics of the engine bay afterwards. Also, think about removing that carpet on the pod - makes one think the pod is badly cracked (if it is, then I guess leave the carpet on, but that is a deduction from premium pricing as well). It does hurt not to have the reciepts from the prior big stuff. But, I've seen these cars go for a fair amount even without them.
GLWS.
