Check your local used tire dealers. Up here, a half descent used set of 225s is $160CDN. That includes install and ballance.

Its rarely worth it to ship cheap used tires, check your local sources like wrecking yards etc. and be somewhat flexible on the "50" part. I'd also forget the speed rating, if you plan to speed buy new tires.

Mount and balance often ends up costing as much as the used tire even without shipping it can get pointless fast. Around $150 for a set of 4 decent tires with mount and balance is about what I paid for the last set.

Check the DOT date of manufacture code stamped into the sidewall (not raised like the cast info) and don't use anything older than 3 years.

Don't forget Craigslist. The cheapest way might be to buy a set of wheels with used but decent tires and then sell your existing wheels. The used tires on a set of (Porsche) wheels don't add much value unless they are close to new.

So far I haven't seen any good deals on used tires, either too high a price or too much for shipping, last option buy wheels with tires, thanks for the above offer, i'll consider it, thanks, bill

Keep your eye out. I just scored a set of brand new Kumo tires on a set of polished manhole covers on e-bay for 200 bucks. The deals are out there if you are willing to wait a while. I would sell you my old set which are almost perfect except the bands are showing on the inside of one of the tires ( I gotta adjust the tie rods now). Good luck mate, can I ask why you want to go used insted of new?

928man - I think I have your tires - email me at bt928brand@gmail.com and I'll tell you about them.
I guarantee it won't waste your time.
