Alan, H4's cast a beautiful beam, no question. But the look of the CAR is as much a factor to me, and I prefer how the H5's look on the car over H4's.

You need the motors and potentiometer/****. The wiring to the CE panel is incluced in all late model US cars - however the wiring from the CE panel to the headlamps is not. This loom is much harder to route.

You do not need new headlamp yokes (some rumors on this - simply not true...) - you do need H4's - the frame & adjusterd of H5's are not designed to pivot and are complete crap for cutoff aiming adjustments anyway. I'd say do not even consisder this without H4's already installed.

By the time you are done - this costs about $800 and 4-5 hours of work (including H4's)

Alan

PS - H - if you prefer H5s to H4s you need to schedule a trip to the Optometrist or the Dr's... just sayin...
Hi Alan,

Dead on about the headlamp Yoke rumors! Factory H4s (I have seen, which is hundreds) always had pivot brackets...they just added a twist on "lock" on the versions without adjusters.

Oh, H4 vs H5 ...me thinks Heinrich has the Hella 7" H4 versions mixed up with Factory 8" H4s......or his eyesight is like an Eagle and can spot the difference between Factory H4s and Factory H5s (I can't from 30 feet away, unless they are on... :-)

8" Factory H4s

7" aftermarket H4s..

DR,
what price do you have on the adjustment motor's? I have tried several second hand ones on my car without success. Thanks,
Myles

Hi Myles,

I only had one set that I got for myself years ago from Porsche. I was told they were the last ones available at that time (may have changed now??) Pretty sure I got those the same time I bought the last Club Sport Fender Decal Porsche had. ...hmmm, almost forgot about that, now where did I stash that???? :-)

FYI, Jeannie checked availability on those for someone about 6 months or so ago and was told then they were no longer available (she didn't have a clue I had them in my private stash, but they wern't for sale then anyway). I will get her to check again just to be sure and post back here.

Have a Great 928 Weekend,

Dave
