Default 1982 US Tranny, clutch box fully rebuilt plus engine FS. NEW VIDS, PICS!

You may remember the delusional story behind this car. Link to the nightmare:

Well, I have it back from the transmission shop and it's headed into the garage for a part out. The transmission has been thoroughly rebuilt by a very experienced transmission mechanic. It took 9 months of Roger's help tracking down parts and getting through the old man's bitter war stories. I drove it 8 miles home and have never felt such smooth shifting in a manual. He also replaced and rebuilt the front part (clutch). That half ran me about 4,600. I have the receipt at home. The transmission and rear brakes ran 5,650. He moved the parts and labor prices around, I think, to help with taxes. I'll have to get the other receipt tomorrow. I would like to sell them for at least over half of what I paid.

To get the most out of selling a transmission it needs to stay in a vehicle that can be driven until you have a firm buyer. I also would not suggest paying to have it removed before you have buyer and a firm price.

Thanks,
It's still in there and drives well. I'll pull it out when paid for.

Bryan, I can't buy it.

But I certainly appreciate what you have here.

I re-did the same clutch, in an 84, and it cost a lot.
Could you list the parts? I think that will help you illustrate the comprehensiveness of the fix.
(for instance, new intermediate plate is a fantastic thing to have --- I bought one, Kibort himself was salivating over a picture of it --- it cost muchos)

Bryan,
Remind me does it have LSD?

I am a little confused on this clutch rebuild thing - can you explain why it cost so much and what was done?

I don't believe it is LSD. The wheels spin opposite by hand.
The clutch... That was back in October. The clutch pedal was missing so that's how I ended up in a trans shop. That was the first thing I got from Roger. There was also nothing connecting that to the Clutch itself. The PO cut away at the housing to make the clutch last longer. I don't know how this works. That was replaced and the clutch plates are new. I don't know where he sourced the clutch plates but they are Porsche NOS. I know nothing about clutches or trans. I just told them to use the best parts and get it all perfect. They relied on Roger and the FSM I lent them that went to Dave K. I am working with the shop now to try and get a list together of all the new parts.

Here's a quick video of the car running and some pics of the engine, trans and clutch box.

I've started posting random parts on Ebay (slowly) Search for BigCavolo as my handle. Mention Rennlist and I'll give members free shipping or 10% or something like that. For larger parts I'll see what I can do.

Thanks. Didn't know you could do that. I think I'm done posting for today. More tomorrow!
