Ignition rekeyed back to original, what's the old lock worth?

Ignition rekeyed back to original, what's the old lock worth?
So I'm getting a little obsessed lately -- now that I found a reliable, local, capable 928 mechanic. I'm finally getting my short list addressed in total.
One of the last things that was bugging me was that the ignition key was not the same as the doors & hatch. So I just sent my extra door key to 928 Intl and they rekeyed a lock to match my master key. Woo hoo.
Was wondering what my old, perfectly good ignition lock with one red key is worth. 928 Intl gets 50 bucks for a used one/ $100 for new. Anyone need my old one for $25 bucks shipped anywhere in CONUS? (Haven't installed the new one yet, so might be a few weeks when I can get the old one out/sent)

Thanks for your response, I am only 50 miles from London so could meet up easily.
That would be an amazing outcome to my first post!
Let me know when and I will meet you. Which airport will you fly into? I am closest to Gatwick but Heathrow is good too.
If I can help with your trip just let me know.
Many thanks
Adrian.

Ok, Let me see if I can get the new part swaped with the old one in time for my trip. I haven't booked my trip yet but looks like it will be Gatwick or Heathrow. Depends on who can get the best price. I'll PM you when I know my trip and if my shop can swap the parts in time.

Hi Adrian, The trip has been postponed. Might not be until October now. I'm going to get the ignition swapped soon. Been collecting parts for small misc issues to get all done at once. Maybe next week. I've got to set up the appointment on Monday. Looks like I'll have to do this by post instead of in person.

I'm all for across the pond 928 cooperation - I've done it my self (checked in a 928 dash complete as luggage on a Heathrow to DC flight - was fun carrying it on the trains at each end) but personally delivering a $25 ign lock takes the biscuit.

OK That will be good. If you send me a paypal invoice to the email address I sent in an earlier post I can send the $25 plus your post and packaging. I appreciate your help.
Spent all day working on my 87 S4. Replaced all rusted out front to back fuel lines with superflex nylon 10mm tubing using compression fittings to join to the good steel pipe work left up near the firewall.
Repaired the tank cradle this week and collected from the powder coaters so I reinstalled this as well today. I have also replaced the fuel pipes behind the door shut face panel which feed from the top of the tank and incorporate the shut off valve to stop the tank leaking if the car gets rolled.
All fuel pipes retained with original rubber clamps and nylon blocks, I bought a couple of spares as I knew some would break which they did. Fitted new stainless steel pipe clamps throughout and the new pipe work looks pretty good.
Tightened up all the 10mm sump bolts which in some cases were finger tight, this accounted for the heavy oil contamination generally on the under body. Last week I had pressure cleaned the entire underside to make all future work less messy.
Carried out TT and crank end float check with good results within factory tolerance showing no cause for concern which was a relief.
I also completed installing all the replacement under bonnet fuel lines which I had made up to original patterns at my local hydraulic service guys.
$45 for all fuel lines crimped up to original steel pipes and couplings, all fitted well although the slightly larger OD hoses made making the threads start squarely quite difficult, I found by slackening off all the rear fuel pressure regulator couplings the new hose couplings could be lined up more easily.
Changed oil & filter and checked magnetic sump plug with no signs of any metal swarf. Renewed plugs and stripped off ignition leads in readiness for a new set which are inbound from the the States. I will replace the caps and rotors which I have picked up on e bay very cheaply $10 for each cap at the same time.
Next week will see auto box serviced and diff oil & brake fluid change. Then Cam Belt & Water Pump.
Thanks for your help once again & I will wait to hear from you.
Best regards from a windy but sunny Brighton.

Wow, you have been busy. Just dropped off the 928 today. Should have the part out and ready to send by end of next week. I'll do the PayPal invoice next week. Sorry it couldn't be in person. Would have been a good story.
