Default rear decal delete 0n 81 ?

well finally got my 81 euro moss metallic green manual mechanically the way i want it and at the moment its in the middle of a pro full rerspray,i have gone for deleting the rub strips thinking about losing the unsightly rear fog my question is does anybody bother refitting new silver porsche rear decals ?im thinking it might look better just painted

From a personal point of view, if it were mine I,d reinstate them, say the P O R S C H E word in a silver grey and likewise the 9 2 8 logo below it.
I think with nothing on there, there is too big a gap between the two rear lights giving the illusion of a long skinny gap ! the difference is in the detail ?
As said, just my preference

tks for you view ken mine only has the porsche not the 928 im thinking more modern cars that have this set up say a mustang would be just painted not highlighted with a sticker,im all for keeping it original but thinking it may look better this way.

Mine doesn't have the sticker, and never did. Some cars do and some don't. My prior models had the sticker. Here's one of each:

Go with a spare and sophisticated look.

I like the rear fog. It's different. Toss the bumperettes if you've got them.

Porsche no longer makes the decals and some aftermarket replacements do not seem to hold up as well.....leave it plain. Which is how the 87> rear covers are. The 928S decal was added for the S but early none S cars did NOT have a 928 decal.

will definitely leave it plain now many thanks for the pics, still think it looks better without the decals even before james said their no longer available. im on the wall with the fog though mine is exactly the same as your last pic with the offending fog on the left.feel its akin to a wart on a pretty face!body guy is not keen to delete the fog though hes afraid it'l show through after a few years!im tempted to take a chance it wont.no bumperetts on mine, but i kinda like how they look on a 928

i just gently popped the badge out,it just slides into place into two plastic holders that accept the two posts on the rear of the badge, although i wasn't too worried about the paint as it was all getting prepped for full respray anyway.pretty sure it didnt damage paint but i was unfaded under badge as you would expect.
