color poll....
thinking of doing a respray before my engine swap and was hoping to get some of your opinions... the reason i want to do a respray to a new color is that i've done (what i would like to think) is a rather successful remake of the 968 lower front valance to a hybrid 997/968 setup, and i do not want to put Grand Prix White paint down only to strip it off a few months down the road..... btw, the Lamborghini paint is a three stage PPG system and is one of the most difficult to put down. it could end up costing a small fortune to get it on the car. btw, i've been getting a lot of complments on the front end work... in case anyone might be curious to see the result, i should be able to post photos in a few days (as i have a little more sanding and priming to do).
there's a lot of astute car enthusiasts on the 928 forum. so i thought i would ask here. thanks a lot.

why not go with porsche 928 colors. There are original colors similar to above.
Let's say "cobalt blue" or "moss green" Not fond of crayola blue colors. Prefer light or dark like a midnight blue metallic gts when going blue.
If I could paint my 928 any color it would be "Zyclamrot Metallic" For me that has to be the best looking paint on a 928 and it definitely is eye catching.
No matter what you choose please show us before and after pics! Can't wait to see it. Should be awesome.

i like some Porsche colors but with the 968, there are fewer examples that i like. also, i didn't want to mess with the more rare color options by adding a 'bogus' car into the mix. also, there are almost no 968 colors i like. (i do like Black, Polar Silver, Slate Grey, Cobalt Blue, Aventurine and Amazon Green). the thing with the 968, is that there are a lot of rather bizarre or boring colors that i dislike a lot. two weird colors that i do like a lot are Amethyst, and Tahoe Blue (see photos. the other car shown is Aventerine Green, witch is my favorite 968 color).

I forgot we are talking about a 968. As for those other colors, being that I love zyclamrot I think that amethyst is also a color that is rather unique and classy as well. It also looks great on that 968. That green is also nice. Just like the other poster said I am not a fan of the brilliant blues. Just too artificial looking to me. So if it is between those 2 colors in the OP I would still choose the green.
No matter what the poll says though, just go with a color you love and enjoy, as you will be the one looking at it the most. But thanks for asking us.

I think your gp white paint is very save-able with the right guy buffing it out. Try that first, no?
I have seen his 968, it is just really full of light scratches. It should be single stage white and have life left in it.

Aventurine and Oak green are both AWESOME colors... On the blue front I prefer a non-metallic royal blue like Arrow or Maritime...
BTW, I also say go with a "PORSCHE" factory color... even if it was not one from your cars model year or maybe not even available on your model of PORSCHE.

Kind of in the same boat. Can't decide on a color at all. First I wanted to do Venetian Blue, now I am trying to decide to paint it Black or Gunmetal Gray.
with Silver white 993 rims
Then again I could keep it Guards Red, but it needs a paint job pretty bad...

i'm scrolling down and i read your post... and say to myself, "i should also mention that i'm also almost hooked on Corvette Jetstream Blue..."
and then i scroll down and see the next post. weird.
(honest. i didn't peek). i'm on an ultraportable mini and had the page expanded.
Tony,
i've been back and forth between Monterrery and Jetstream Blue for many months.
