Dan, I'm just curious, does your 91 run hotter with the supercharger?

It used to until I relocated the intercoolers away from the center of the radiator. Now it runs pretty much on par with other stock S4+ 928's. In very hot weather with the A/C on, it can creep slightly past the last white line, but never gets too close to the red zone.

Ram cram do you have a template for the 10 inch fan shroud? I see your showing a twin turbo not a S/C on your avatars so we are talking about the S/C cooling correct?

Just did a quick measure, with the air box width it does not seem a 10 inch fan would work.

Ramcram trying to reach you looking for info on your fan shroud.
Summer is coming and wanted info on your 10 inch fan replacing the 4 8 inch units.

Sorry for being so slow to reply but all 3 928s are getting stuff done at the moment and I'm all over the place like a mad woman's breakfast!
I don't have a template I'm sorry and it will depend very much on your installation.
With the supercharger and everything else in position, we measured all the tight spots eg side and top of the radiator to the crank pulley, to get our max width and height. Then radiator core back until it would foul on the breathing pipes I have for the ProVent.
This gave me a max for a 10" fan and about 12mm clearance from the core to the fan hub, which I'm happy with.
With these dimentions, we pulled the radiator found some 0.8mm galv sheet under the bench, [would have used alluminium if I had any], folded the bottom and inner sides over the edge of the work bench, put 'U' shaped rubber over those edges. The outer and upper edges just lay on the radiator edge. The outer we left a folded over double peice to go under the Porsche hook on the tank for the original shroud and the top we put 2 small self tappers into the radiator edge strip.
There is not much sheet left by the time a 10" hole is cut for the fan, it's very light.
I hunted the net for a fan that has 'S' type blades for quietness and one that claimed good CFM.
Last weekend we went on a run with the local Porsche Club, through the hill for about 150km and it was 38C [100F] and the temp needle didn't go past the first mark. Before it would have gone to the top on the uphill and dropped back only a bit on the downhill.

Jay Leno uses this http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/extras...nt/index.shtml

I also use Evan in my VW years ago. It will change to a darker color after couple of years.

Just saw this. We have run Evans coolant for 15 years or so, from back when it was called Mecca Fluid. We have used it in 500+ hp V8 wind machines and it is awesome. It does not run hotter for us and the engine seems to not suffer the heat soak as badly as modified water. We run hard then shut them off and they do well with the Evans. Evans with electric water pumps is a great way to fly...

how did you go with the liquid intelligence? I have it in my 1984s with a new pwr radiator but it seems to run hot, last white line on the freeway. up to the red in traffic in a Brisbane summer.

It is great stuff. I've sold that car but I ran LI-115 for a few years with no issues, with the supercharger. Even a trip up to QLD and back through some pretty hot country.
I'll definitely be running it in my 6.5Litre when I eventually finish it.
Going 'up' to the red line should not be an issue because you are still WAY under the temp limit for LI-115. You just want to keep your oil temp for going much over 120C.
It won't be the coolant that is causing temp rises, most likely he radiator itself.

A 10" fan, 2750 CFM and 7A dont really compute for me? I have a dual SPAL set up giving around then same CFM, and their rating is over 20a.

With no supercharger to get in the way, this is my chosen fan setup. Controlled by an AutoCool-85 PWM controller.
