right now I'm debating still on using the heads i got from england off a LH 16v and having them rebuilt, or using the set from early euro that i have done now.... anyone know if there is any real difference?

Nice job. Kind of makes me wish I had pulled my valve covers and painted them.

Which crank dampener should be used on a hybrid, the orange one from the short block or the green one from the Euro S motor (to match the rpm characteristic of the cams)?

yes there is a difference
what part numbers can you give me and I can tell you what your valve timing is as there is 4 different sets .

the springs are different, the euro valves are larger, the compression goes from 8.6 up to 10 to 1 but that may be mostly the configuration of the piston crowns

I think the engine is an interfence engine now. At least this is what Mark Kibot claimed. I am not sure why this would be the case, but Mark has more experience on this. If it is an interference motor then the 45 degree mark is important as is a belt tension sensor circuit.

Otherwise the Euro damper is probably the one to use. After all you are just increasing the displacement. The timing is still set by hand and a timing light. The marks on the Euro damper are probably worth while. The ones on the 5.0 are there for setting valve timing. Then again you might be using adjustable cam pulleys although setting the cam timing might not be the same.

Good luck

i will be running MegaSquirt so i can adjust timing that way. id think that along as the 0 mark is correct, i will be good.

What material did you use for the rebuild? I am just about at this point.
