Do these work when the sticky backing plates are used with the pads? As there might not be enough clearance to get the pads and the sticky backing plates out if the pads are not totally worn. If that is the case you have to take the caliper off anyway.

I think most of these cheap kits are for floating caliper brakes where you just need to apply pressure toward the piston to free both pads like on your average Japanese car. Our Brembo fixed-calipers are a different animal because we have to pull one or both of the pads back away from the disc. And there's only a small raised area in center of the backing plate to grip.
