Default Coolant warning won't go away

I replace both the coolant level sensor and the pressure sensor and the light is still on. Other than putting a black tape over the ! light, what should I look at next?

Hi,

Maybe try to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to "reset" the brain.

Regards

Does that circuit really have a 'brain'?

I would check for loose/broken wiring and/or connectors first.

Coolant level and coolant pressure are 2 separate warnings.

Which is it?

My guess is that your coolant level float no longer floats. Did you replace with a new one?

If not, you may be SOL. See this thread:

Yes I replace both with new parts. I hate to use the black tape trick

Sorry, my mistake. I don't mean reset that circuit in particular, I mean the Central Warning System.

I have a similar issue and anticipate the problem is either a broken or grounded wire but I have not spent the time to sort out which wire and where so I will be interested in what you find.

FWIW there is a resistor in the float assembly and just disconnecting the wires to sender will not turn out the light,
As Sean said, The elex portion of the sender is usually the failed portion

You can still get them, I have a brand new one, I will sell it for 604.95, or you could call one of our vendors who do not have the markup I have.

They were not bad for a sensor on a 928 IIRC.

It is not a resistor. I check both the old and new level sensor. It is just on/off switch type. I got the new sensor from this year's SITM
