I got my Wilton from Heritage here in North Vancouver also a complete set of new hides with contrasting piping. I love it and recommend this combo to any interested in refreshing their ride..........and lightening their wallets

Does anyone have any idea on where I could source some custom dyed Wilton Wool? I'm trying to match the exterior color of the car. A a friend of mine suggested finding a Muscle Car restoration shop as some of the early cars came in very odd and unique colors. I've contacted a couple but they don't have a clue as to where or who can produce a custom dyed carpet. I'm open to all ideas.

You may have to consult some carpet factories.... Dalton, GA (IIRC) is one of the main towns in the 'carpet belt' and is THE source for many carpet companies.

If they can match the dye... cross your fingers they can obtain and dye the Wilton wool fibers accurately.

Small batch = $$$$$$$$

Cowboy,
GAHH carpet company can do many different kinds of carpets and colors and have it cut in a 928 pattern.
They can probably send you quite a bit of swatches so can pick your ideal color, then have it custom 928 cut.

My take:

If you have black carpet, buy the best quality you can find.

If you have any other color, prioritize the best color match first, and best quality second in your purchase decision.

A color-mismatch is much worse to look at than a slightly lesser quality of carpet.

Dan ...My GTS cedar green interior is pretty close in colour to your car.

The only trouble in trying to match the exterior colour exactly is that, because of the different textures, you'll find they won't necessarily look the same, even if the colour match is perfect. Sometimes the carpet in mine looks close to the same as the leather ... and on other days with different light it has more blue in it.

^^^ That's a beautiful interior!

But I have to ask: Is the upside down steering wheel another special feature for down-under?

Thanks for the pics Dave. Beautiful interior. What color is your dash/pod/center console. Is it black? More pics are appreciated.

Hi Dan ... yes the centre console, pod, dash and door trim are all black. The black gives a nice break/separtion between the carpet and cedar green leather.

I've just dug out a few more pics which aren't great, but show a bit more. The first one with the door open in sunlight shows the more turquoise colour of the carpet in bright light.

Thanks for the compliment .... I admire it every time I look at it too .... although I've still got a few touch ups to do on the interior to get rid of a some imperfections.

If you want any specific view or more pics of the interior let me know.

Dave, thanks so much for the extra pics. That is just beautiful.

Today I spent three hours calling all manner of auto carpet outlets and custom auto interior companies. Nobody does or can source custom color auto carpet. It is shocking I tell you. I tried all the places recommended here as well. Same answer. My next effort will be to contact concours car restoration facilities in and around Monterey, CA. I figure they would know how to get this done.

Even places that specialize in Porsche restorations could not help. I asked them if they had access Cedar Green as a standard Porsche color..... "never heard of it". I suspect a color to sample.

Nicole, how were these unique color to sample carpets created at the factory? You would think there would be numerous places that could custom dye/weave some auto carpet. Very frustrating.
