just happened to notice this while poking around...
the engine alone should be worth his asking price

per the owner... I'm awaiting pics
VIN# WP0JB2921LS860206

engine built by Sussex motors. He is a independant exotic car repair shop. Specializes in Mercedes but has tons of experience boring out and assembiling alumunum block engines.

928 Intl crank
Race berings
Chevy rods
928 developments lightweight race pistons (104.5mm)
new valves (39mm and 37mm if I remember right)
high spring rate valve springs (reduces float at higher RPM)
polished heads
Devek aluminum radiator (23% more cooling)

The engine has about 1k miles on it after the rebuild. Generates 418 RWHP the last time I had it dyno'd.

Interesting....... still a good price just for the "parts" alone.....but there are SO many variables out how the engine was built which count for EVERYTHING in how long the engine will run....... Doc LOVES fixing "cheap" strokers built by someone else.....for a good reason too!!!!

I think it was the "offset" (not sure of the correct term) that isn't right and the load to the bearing isn't square (layman like me terms) which increases the wear to the bearing on one side (NOT a good thing)

I would be less worried about the rod offset..than I would be about 928 Developments pistons. The ones I saw (Louie had some) were scary...skirt coatings were like hand painted on...

I agree , with Tom here is a picture of the very small offset , and of some improperly coated pistons

got pics... the engine is only half the ? with this thing... needs paint, never seen that many dash/pod cracks in an airbag 928,,, BAD!.. if everything else had been ok I was tempted to go see it...
way too many issues for me to consider another resto project
I'll resize and upload the pics tomorrow, but don't expect anything nice

If this engine is working well it is I believe the FIRST one with those pistons to survive but it only has 1,000 miles on it. Wonder how much oil it is burning ???
