Default '93 GTS 5-spd For Sale

$48k

1993 GTS 5-spd Guards Red on black. Just under 51k miles. I believe this is a 2-owner car. I have owned it for almost 3 years and put less than 8k miles on it. It has always been garage kept and it shows.

Option Codes:
058 Bumpers with impact absorbers
130 Labelling in English
139 Seat Heating - Left
218 License brakets front and rear
323 without ESE-regulations (not a clue what this means)
323 Sticker, without ESE-Regulations
331 AM/FM Cassette w/2 door speakers
340 Seat heating - Right
403 Pressure cast 17" wheels
418 Protective side mouldings
423 Cassette container and coin box
437 Comfort seat left
438 Comfort seat right
464 Without compressor and tire pressure gauge
474 Sport shock absorbers (Bilsteins)
481 5 speed manual transmission
484 Symbols for controls
537 Left seat with positrol and lumbar
553 Version for USA
562 Airbag driver's side
562 Airbag driver's and PASSENGER'S side
567 Windshield green graduated tint
570 High output air conditioner
573 Air conditioner
595 Rear spoiler painted to match body
602 Third brake light "High mount"
650 Sunroof
692 Remote CD changer (6-disc)
912 Vehicle without identification plate

Mechanical:
Service is up to date. Intake refresh will be next major PM item to be done. TB/WP was done 2 years/8k miles ago and Porkensioner was installed (w/ air pump bracket). Dave Lomas MotorSport stainless X-crossover w/o cats with custom mandrel-bent stainless exhaust system (I still have the stock cat section). 928 Specialist Blackbird Air Induction system (I still have the stock GTS air induction system). Steering rack was replaced by PO and I added Delrin bushings. Motor mounts are good. Oil pan gasket is dry. 5-spd trans has fresh Redline fluid and shifts excellent with PKlutch adjustable clutch stop installed on pedal. PSD was flushed last year and works fine. New clutch/pressure plate was installed when TB was done. Carerra III 18"x8" and 18"x11" were just powder coated and new Michelin PS2's mounted (235/40 front and 295/35 rear). Alignment done by Brad Moyer at Digital Chassis. Bilsteins were installed by Brad as well. Cast-hole drilled Zimmerman rotors and new Hawk Performance pads installed last year (brake fluid was flushed also). AC has always been trouble free. Oil consumption is around 1 qt every 700 miles or so. I use Torco TR1 20w50 oil per Greg Brown's recommendation. 928 Specialist SharkVent installed. Tool kit is complete.

Cosmetic Interior/Exterior:
Fender liners replaced front and rear. Short throw shifter with Paul Champagne leather shifter boot. Armrest console was raised 1.5" and recovered by Paul Champagne (w/ red leather inside). Stereo work done by Sound Station and Security and includes Porsche CDR-220, Infinity Kappa 1200-watt amp and Infinty Kappa 10" sub (original spare tire is under sub) with MB-Quart speakers throughout (German made). Paul Champagne rear luggage cover. Seats are original and in excellent condition with minor bouster wear on drivers seat. Paint is all original except front bumper cover, drivers fender, and sunroof panel. Hood has a few minor chips. Body has a few minor nicks and scratches but nothing major. Chin spoiler and front belly pan are new.

Includes fender service covers, a nice car cover, Laco 928 watch #096 (never been worn), Project 928 book with Paul Champagne limited edition leather cover (1 of 25), Porsche air compressor kit, SafeCraft fire extinguisher with Brey Krause seat mount, and 9-volume WSM v1.3 w/ PET6.03 on CD.

This car is not perfect, is not presented as such, and will never be perfect. It is owned by a 928 enthusiast. Price is set at what I want for it, not what some think the market will bear, etc. There are 2 known local 928 wrenches that can do a thorough PPI at buyer's expense.

She's a beauty! Lots of tasteful mods, relatively low miles, and some nice extras. Price doesn't seem out of line with what Michael Willhoit might ask. Hate to see you sell it, but GLWS.

I had the pleasure of driving this fine GTS a couple weeks back. I drives like it left the factory, even better with the hi-flo exhaust.
This is a no questions 928!

David,
Typically, I would ask what are you upgrading to? But that doesn't apply here. GLWS, sad to see ya go...

Jim,

After paying my wife's medical bills for the last year, we just need to liquidate some assets to reposition ourselves financially. Between this and my boat going, we will be better off. Both are paid for, they just need to go so I can be more comfortable with a strong savings account for the next family crisis.

With the price set at $48k, I'm in no hurry to give it away.

I hope you get a good price, and sorry to hear about your wife's problems. I wish you both well.

David, this is a very responsible thing you are doing. I have to say that I am sorry to see you selling it. Your car is absolutely beautiful, worth every penny of what you are asking. Good luck with the sale.

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's medical issues, and hope very much that she is doing better. The 928 is just a car... even though yours is especially beautiful!

Best of luck with the sale!

Nicole,

She had a battle with triple-negative breast cancer and then clear cell carcinoma on her right kidney. She survived and is all clear, so hopefully we have seen the last of it. Folks that have been through that stuff will tell you the medical bills are endless, I think the guy that cuts the grass at the hospital even sent us a bill. Everything is nearly paid in full, but we have no savings now. It's just time to sell some toys. Of course I don't want to sell my 928, it is a prize possession. It is fairly nice and I have the price set at upper end for one within those miles/condition range. A lot of members here have seen the car at various functions so I'll let them chime in on it.

Wow David, I hate to hear about the issues your family is having, normally I would try to talk you out of this, but I know you have thought this through, so good luck finding a buyer.

Sorry to hear of the need to sell.
It makes a strong statement about character to your family, especially as your kids watch.

For anybody who hasn't seen it, this is an exceptional, stunning car.

Great opportunity for a 928 enthusiast to get one of the best GTSs out there.

She doesn't know about this, as she would probably argue not to sell it. She went to SITM11 with me and had a great time. But, selling this car and our boat would really build our saving account back to a stronger position than before her cancer issues. The kids really like the car as well, they have been to all SITM's with me, as well as Frenzy last year.

I doubt it will sell at $48k, however there is room for negotiation, but this is certainly no fire sell. Occassionally we have someone pass through here looking for a nice GTS 5-spd, so maybe this will catch one of them.
