There is not another group like it

One thing I noticed and this has NOTHING to do with 928 people, but the less expensive the Porsche, the nicer the people. I dont even know where to begin with that analysis, but it seemed my 993/993TT crowd were friendlier than other groups I have been around. It seems like the guys who can buy the newer cars, dont have the same Porsche DNA that the rest of us who dreamed about ANY Porsche do.
Agreed! When I had my 2004 911 back in 2006 I noticed the same thing, seemed the older the car the nicer the owner and much, MUCH less snobbish. Seemed to be related also to how many NEW Porsche's they had owned as compared to how many OLD ones.

No tickets, because I don't speed.

No tickets here.

Here is my contribution. Had an excellent time! Made it home in 12 hrs and only 2 radar traps the whole way.

Alex tired out from all the Jeannie and Rachel hugs. All that excitement was just too much for him!

I came down the mountain pretty hard and had was dripping fluid when I got to the hotel parking lot. Jacked it up and it leaked when my son put pressure on the steering, but couldn't see where. I tightened one of the banjo connectors just a bit although it didn't seem to be the leak point and the next morning put some fluid in it hoping to limp home.

I checked it after about 30 miles of mountain roads and it hadn't lost any... ?? checked it five more times on the way home - eight hours - and it went down maybe 1/8in. Makes no sense to me, but...

I was afraid I'd have to cut the belt and drive eight hours without power steering, but I was lucky. I need to get it up on the lift and see where the leak, (what is now just an occasional drip) is coming from.

Lucked out..

My first and definitely not my last SITM. What an awesome time; I can't stop talking about it to anyone who will listen!

Had a blast just getting there Friday. Carl is an awesome driver and pack leader, and we absolutely rocked the BRP. But we don't speed.

221 coming across to Beech Mountain is one of my new favorite roads on Earth. I cannot wait to run that again. I have a video to post from that tonight.

I'll avoid repeating all of the mountaintop photos, but here's a few more for your enjoyment, including some "Me and My Shark Quiet Time" shots from Sunday morning. It was that kind of trip.

HUGE thanks to Dave and Jeannie for hosting us. That parts picnic bonanza Sunday was the best icing on the best cake I've had in a while. I kept finding cool little item after cool little item, all at ridiculous deals. Already signed up for next year; dates blocked out on the calendar!

What are you doing driving down a dusty dirt and gravel road?! Don't you know our cars are never to be driven in conditions like that. I am shocked, just shocked anyone would drive their 928 in such conditions. It is disrespectful of our rare cars. If Porsche had meant for our cars to be driven down dirt raods they would have given us 4WD.

I've been driving with a cut PS belt for 2 years. Once the car is rolling, you can hardly tell the PS pump is not working. Next time you have this proble and are out of fluid, just cut it. The car will drive just fine without it.
