Default Building manual trans cooler...help needed

Recently been looking around Jegs and Summit and have found pretty much all the parts I need to build myself a nice trans cooler kit since its about time for a fluid change anyway... Plus $200 in parts is a hellaofalot cheaper than a trans rebuild.

My only holdup is has been trying to figure out what thread size the drain and fill plugs are on the manual box. I found some pics on the 928MS site and it looks suspiciously similar to a carburetor inlet plug but am not sure. If anyone has any info on what size these buggers are I'd really appreciate it so I dont have to order like 50 different plugs and send 48 of em back.

Heres what they look like:

Thanks

Both drain and fill plugs are M24 x 1.5, 22 ft lbs torque. You going to set it up like Dr. Ott's, under the rear bumper?

The rear plate has enough room to also just an AN "Bulkhead fitting" with a teflon seal. You can do that on the bottom, and then simply run an "IN" port at the front. I think the best thing to do is simply pump from the front to the back and then through a cooler.

Louie actually had sprayers I think.

Just...dont consider sprayers for anything other than street use, or maybe ORR work.

No tracks, ever.

Jeff-

I think Brendan is referring to the internal gearset sprayer bar that is built into the GTS 5-speed:

Is the objection to that, or are you envisioning something that's wetting the track?

You might want to talk to Mike Simard about that.
Pretty sure he runs sprayers on his race car.

Was reviewing some of the latest changes to some of the SCCA rules:

Water Spray Systems
Water may not be sprayed on any intercoolers, radiators, etc. Water spray systems may only be used to inject water into the brake ducts.

Thats a note I captured from IT from Jan this year.

He is talking about oil sprayers for the gears.
I think any way, but it seems this has not been a good day for me to think.

Yes, it will need/have a pump

No sprayers here thanks, just a simple cooler will do fine. Less holes I have to drill, the better.

Both drain and fill plugs are M24 x 1.5
^^^ This is my problem!

I havent been able to find any fittings which will fit that spec that are not just plugs.

Some sort of anodized AN/NPT fitting would be preferable but at this point I'll take anything I can find.

You might be able to have the drain plug tapped for an AN fitting thru its center, and some flats ground on its circumference so it can be torqued into place with a crowfoot (?)

Or you can figure out who imports these:

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/39...ngs_Flare.html

Greg Brown may have something like this from Goodridge, in stock, or can get it. Might be worth calling his wife in the AM.
