Default How much Ester oil to add after system leaked pressure

I missed a flex hose during rebuild of the system and of course it leaked and I lost my first charge.

How much ester oil do I need to add if any once I get the system back togather and suck it back down? I did not have puddles of oil but from what I read the R134 will carry some of the oil with it or is this wrong?

I also have the compressor off again so easy to add back in. The dryer was new as was the expansion valve and I had flushed the condenser and evaporator but I assume they all have some traces of the ester oil now as well.

Thanks

If you had a slow leak, you lost very little oil. If you had a dramatic bang and cloud of smoke, you lost some oil.

Okay the first one fits me. The system still had some pressure on it when I slowly released through the low pressure service port.

Thanks

Also, when I vacuum down a discharged system I do not see any oil come out. So, I generally do not add oil to a system unless I change out a component that contains oil or have some other reason to suspect oil loss.
