Most of the high dollar "sorted" cars I've seen change hands .... have also needed great garage commitment to keep running.

Mine Daily Driver last 2 years, every other day 2 years+ before that. Now going to start sharing time with 1980 BMW R65 commuter Project.

Mine has been a daily driver for 17 years. Of course it only had 42K miles on it when I bought it.

I've done all of the maintenace myself.

Except for a few minor hiccups, my '82 928 has been, by far the most reliable, economical car I've ever owned.

In 19 years I've driven over 200,000 miles split between two 928s. I have only been stuck twice - once for a broken impeller in a one year old Porsche water pump and the other for a broken shifter cable. Stay on top of maintenance, replace fuel lines, get MAF recalibrated, invest in a rebuilt LH, get all of the vacuum stuff sorted out and/or replaced and then drive the $hit out of it.
