Default Fuel Injectors...

Apologies, I have been reading many many threads and dont want to buy the wrong fuel injectors. I am going with 24lbs blue tipped injectors made for Fords.

Can someone please tell me a model and year so I can match the injectors up so they will fit and models without me having to replace the O-Ring.

Looking for year and model of vehicle please...I want to go down to Advanced Auto parts and buy them this week.

thanks...

It idles a bit rough, I am going to check the air lines as well, but I though I would include the injectors too. I already changed the spark plugs.

thanks...

You will definitly need a new set of lower O rings - which we sell 8>).

Aren't the stock S4 injectors 18 pounders? (Or am I senile today?)

Pretty sure that any injectors you buy at Advance Auto are not going to have the right o-rings on the bottom, regardless of what make and model you specify (I guess you could tell them it's for a 928 and see what they say...). And you'd probably pay more for them than you would if you just call Roger on Monday morning and order from him. And if you get them from Roger there will be no issue about whether they have the proper grooves in the injector body that are absolutely essential for locking them to the fuel rail safely.

What engine mods are you considering that will need 24 lb injectors, and how are you going to re-tune to be able to use the 24's?

Unless you are going to modify the car you should stick with 19Lb injectors. I have sets of refurbished/flowmatched 4 hole injectors for $145. Plug and play.

Why don't you PM me and tell me about your car, and what you want it to be, what you budget is, etc, we will try to make a plan for you.

I have to say from reading your threads, that IMHO you really need to look at the big picture, make a plan of attack.
As a Marine sniper, you more than most here, should understand the need for a plan.

To go just blindly putting some parts on, like 24 LB injectors is not going to work out well for you.
There is a lot more to this than just going to some cut rate auto part store an throwing crappy, cheap and often substandard parts, at a 928 trying to fix a problem.
I also can pretty much promise you that your injectors are not what is causing a idle quality issue unless it has other driveablity problems.

That NEVER works out well, and just means more work for the guy that actually has to fix it at some point.

I hope you take this in the manner it is given, as a offer to help a fellow 928 owner, because I fear if you continue on the road you are on, some one, at some point, is going to start a thread just like this one about you.

Unless you have some airflow mods in your immediate future, and have the same immediate access to a Sharktuner, and are sure that everything under the intake is nice and fresh and leak-free, put 19# injectors in the car. If you haven't done so already, replace all the fuel hoses in the engine bay WYAIT. Check the vacuum system and the regulator and dampers for leaks too.

New 19# injectors, with Roger's o-rings, definitely smoothed out my already-smooth S4. As part of a whole intake refresh anyway. We didn't find any cracked or split hoses or anything seriously deteriorated, so I give virtually all the credit for the smoothness to the new injectors. And Rob Edwards' knowledge and help on th erest of the project.

I want to add 125 shot nitros (or so) in the future , thus the reason for the 24lb injectors. The car runs good, it just seems to idle a little low (which would cause the sense of roughness)...around 600RPM or so...it does not overheat, everything else seems ok. I am planning on buying a shark tuner soon...

If I purchased said injectors from Rog I would prefer the 24lb'ers as I have moded my exhaust, I am going to introduce nitros and am going to buy the Sharktuner.

And yes Snipers have a plan when it comes to living breathing targets and avoiding detection : ) ... cars on the other hand is a different story, I am out of my element, like an overweight Russian soldier drinking Vodka all day...thus the reason for all the simple silly questions.

I was driving a E92 M3 before I sold it to get my hands dirty with the 928...I have a Lexus as a back up and a 1198R if the backup fails : )

thanks for the input...

Well...good luck. Cant say there's much help to be found here if at some point, you develop other problems, and you havent done the basics.

You'll be doing them sooner or later...generally cheaper when it's sooner.

Best of luck.
