Default How to clean electrical connections

I need to clean the speedometer connection in the spare tire well. What is the best method to do so? The connectors are recessed in the plastic -- how do you clean those?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Thanks,

David

Most contact pairs are to some extent self cleaning when mounted/demounted.

You can buy special tools to release the pins/sockets from their housings. But it is still difficult to clean the sockets. I would suggest squirting some contact cleaner into the socket and then plugging/unplugging a few times. That should clean them up unless they are very badly coroded ?
