Default pktensioner instructions

while in my waterpump replacemet project, i found that i needed new cam gears...
well lizard came through with recoated ones... then i found that the idler pulley on my tensioner was bad... a new one was about 1/4 the price of the pktensioner..soooo i bought a pktensioner....

now the problem is i have a box of miscellaneous parts without a clue how they go on..

i talked to roger and i am downloading the instructions from his website, but he also said there was a pktensioner for dummies post here, but after searching, i cannot find it.

any body have better search skills than me?

Dummies edition:

NB: Read the entire thread, as there are some good suggestions, important points (like the washer orientation in post #40) and updates along the way.

the tensioner lever came with an o ring in the bag, it does not look like it fits on the arm assembly as used on our application

Tensioner lever does not come with an O ring AFASIK - are you sure it is not the O ring for the old tensioner.

I emailed you both documents earlier this evening after your call.

The oring is to keep the bolt in place during shipping so there no mistake as to which bolt goes where.

The oring is NOT used in the assembly......file it in your parts bin.

Read the above install thread and you'll be fine.....good luck

The lever comes with a small O ring on the bolt - sorry I thought you meant the tensioner.

awesome... thanks guys.

I read the link and it all seemed pretty straightforward, there was just no mention of the o ring and no picture of the thread side of the lever....
I did not think that it was supposed to be used, but i just wanted to make sure before i installed it.

Show me how many cars with the new style system have a warning system!
I know of one, and its not available for the US market.

The simple fact is that with the newer system it is not needed.

OP start a new threat and post up pics/questions as you go along the way.
