Default 928's racing this weekend in Norcal! 2 WINS!!!!

I am racing the 928 Estate on Saturday at Thunderhill with NCRC...I race at 1230 and 230 (approximate)...... Kibort is racing at Laguna on Sunday with SCCA, but I am not sure of the times......

The weather forecast is EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perfect weather....no excuses not to put down a personal best lap time!

I am heading to Thunderhill tomorrow AM with Bill Ball (Bill is the BEST) to get the Estate ready..... If you plan on coming to Thunderhill stop by our shop 17 (up to the left from entrance) and say hi!!!!

Have fun Brian.
I will be auto-Xing at Sears Point on Saturday. Not as much fun as you and Mark but at least all of the tracks are covered with 928's

Just finished getting everything ready.....all I can say is BILL IS THE MAN.....he drove all the way to Thunderhill to help me get my mini laundry list of issues fixed!!! But we did figure out that the oil leak is the rear main seal.....and everything else is good! New GPS lap timer is installed, rear drop link-loose suspension bolts is fixed.....oil changed, new voltage regulator is in, look at the pic of the old one....it was WORN.....voltage is super stable now!

The bummer is I figured out why I couldn't get the car to turn right last time it was out.....because the left front tire was corded on the inside.....oh well they were free.... So I was debating doing a mix-match of Hoosiers R6 in the rear and BFG R1 in front....combing the best of my remaining 6 good tires....but decided to buy a new set of RA1's.....since RA1's are a sliding tire, it should help with my car control and they last forever too....

Well another successful race weekend.....a large field of 19 cars today.....and the Estate was running very well thanks to all the help from Bill yesterday...

I manage to WIN my class in the 1st race with a slight drizzle coming down....then the rain REALLY starts....for the 2nd race the field drops big time.... A Ferrari 360 challenge on the pole (on slicks), I'm P2 and a herd of miatas behind.... The rain was coming down big time & my "new" shaved RA1's only had about 4 treads.....so it was SLICK....

Green flag drops and I hit the GAS....I am stunned that I pull the Ferrari....since he was clearly taking it easy....in a couple corners its me and 1 miata....I let him go and plan on following his tracks....its working well and I'm a couple seconds behind him.....then I miss his marks going into T7 (a non corner in the dry) by a little bit, were talking inches......and get totally sideways at about 80mph.... but catch it....so I check my shorts and decide to cruise in for the class win since nobody else was close....

Bottom line.. 928 Estate gets two wins.....and a 2nd overall....

Quite a "non excellent" weather day......here is video from the 2nd race in the RAIN RAIN RAIN.... I can actually say the Estate beat a Ferrari 360 Challenge!!! Hit the gas on the green flag...Ferrari gets wheelspin and I take the lead!!!!

Nice! Looks pretty darn slippery. That Ferrari has all that power and no grip
